When I was losing weight I still had a pretty serious sweet tooth and so I needed to figure out a dessert that ticked off all the boxes I needed - and ultimate it lead me to figuring out how to make chocolate chia pudding - so now you can to.
You'll probably think: This is BARELY a dessert because it’s so healthy. It’s plant-based, dairy-free and gluten free. It’s high protein, low in sugar, and packed with fibre. Your sweetness comes from dates, so even though it’s technically sugar it’s also packed with fibre so it’s much healthier. If you've never had a chia pudding thing is similar in texture to a tapioca..
You need a high-speed blender to make this. If you’ve just got a regular blender it might work. That said, I would highly recommend you soak your dates in the milk for 30 minutes or so before hand.
In fact this is SO good for you there’s no reason that you couldn’t use this as part of a breakfast parfait with some fruit and grains. I’ve been known to sprinkle some of my granola on top of it. It’s especially awesome with some fresh fruit - berries are my go to.
This will keep wonderfully in the fridge for a week, and you can feel free to make a double or triple batch if you’d like - just give it a little extra time to set, or split it up into several containers.
Breakfast, snack, or dessert, however you make this chocolate chia pudding SMASH IT INTO YOUR FACE!

Pour your non-dairy milk into your high-speed blender and then add in the rest of the ingredients. Cover your blender and crank it on high and let it go for at least one minute, until everyone is nicely combined and the dates are puréed into the mixture. It could be delightfully creamy
Pour the mixture into a medium to large bowl and stir until it’s nicely combined. Let sit on the counter, or in the fridge, for at least 15 minutes or longer. You COULD eat this right away, but it’s better if you give it some time.
When ready spoon into separate bowls. Top with fruit or granola or whatever you want. Or just eat it by its delicious self. However you do it, SMASH IT INTO YOUR FACE.
